Gummersbach: Big rush at the reopening of the expanded & modernised Netto store

On the 1st of August 2022, the starting signal was given for the expansion of the Netto store located in Gummersbach. On Tuesday, the 15th of November 2022, the time had finally come – the doors opened and the reopening of the discounter was celebrated by a large stream of customers. Within the last few months, the rental space of the Netto store was increased from originally around 882 m² to approximately 1,112 m².

Now, visitors to the modern market have access to a sales area of about 800 m², where the supermarket presents its wide range of products. Netto has signed a new lease in return for the market expansion and has committed itself to the location for another 15 years.

Extensive renovation work was already carried out in the adjacent health centre during the first construction phase in 2020. A modern fitness studio and a physiotherapy practice were realized here on an area of around 1,800 m². The opening of the physiotherapy practice took place in July 2020. The fitness studio could not open its doors until June 2021 due to Corona.

The installation of solar panels is planned as part of the 3rd construction phase. These will be installed on the roofs of the health centre and the Netto store.

The property is part of the existing portfolio of the Israeli LAHAV Family Office. DRIA GmbH, which is in charge of the asset management of the property, was entrusted with the planning and execution of the expansion measures as well as with the lease negotiations.
