Forst: DRIA GmbH brokers OBI store and ALDI project package to Thuringian developer

The Australian family office, Sunshine Real Estate II GmbH, which is represented in Germany by DRIA GmbH, recently sold an OBI store in combination with a projected ALDI on an approximately 24,300 m² site in Forst (Lausitz) to a project developer from Thuringia.

The DIY chain OBI has been present at the location since the early 90s with an area of just under 9,000 m². The new branch of the discounter ALDI Nord is currently still under construction, with completion and opening scheduled for the 3rd quarter of this year.

The new ALDI will have a rental area of around 1,524 m² and a sales area of approx. 1,000 m². The shared car park with 219 parking spaces will be available to all OBI and ALDI customers while they shop. The location of the ALDI store will create an ideal synergy effect from which OBI will also benefit in the future.

In addition to the pure brokerage of the transaction, DRIA GmbH also negotiated and concluded the lease agreement with ALDI and created the building law (B-Plan) for the construction of the ALDI, which is one of DRIA GmbH’s core competencies.

Buyer: project developer, Thuringia
